Gore is nestled along the Lower Illinois River and just a few miles from Lake Tenkiller. There are so many different things to do, you will need to come back several times to try them all. Saturday, Apr 27, 8a-3p, Semi-annual, town-wide clean-up day.
Gore Public Works Authority (GPWA) customers will be
allowed to dispose of undesirable items with some
exceptions. These items will NOT be accepted: hazardous
materials, construction debris, tires, brush/tree limbs, liquids, paint, or appliances containing Freon (such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners).
The items containing Freon may be accepted if the compressor is removed. Compressors will be accepted upon removal. Batteries will also be accepted.
The location for drop off will be in large containers to be
temporarily placed at the gravel parking lot west of the Steve Owens Sports Complex baseball fields. This is on Steve Owens Road which adjoins East 3rd Street and meets US-64 on the east side of Gore.
You will need to present proof of service (a current GPWA water/trash bill) to be allowed to participate. Also, a picture ID may be requested.

Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the cars or bring your own and crank the tunes.

Bring your family to the park for a weekend of family fun activities at the Nature Center followed by a spectacular fireworks show the evening of July 4th. Check the park Facebook page for a full schedule of events closer to the big holiday weekend.

Shine your prized ride and head to the Annual Gore Cruise Night, Car Show & Burnout where cars from all over Oklahoma and Arkansas will converge to show off, cruise and burnout. Start the day by attending the afternoon car show, then head over to the burnout pits for free hotdogs and burnt rubber. Afterwards, make your way to Main Street to enjoy vehicles from all eras cruising main. All events will be free.

Bring family and friends out for shopping fun at the three-day Fin & Feather Fall Festival. This annual arts and crafts festival is held on the grounds of the Fin & Feather Resort near beautiful Lake Tenkiller. Make your way to the Fin & Feather Fall Festival and browse through over 170 arts and crafts vendors and over 100 outside booths from several states. Visitors will find unique handmade items including jewelry, candles, woodwork, toys and much more. Grab some food from on-site food trucks, Soda Steve’s restaurant or the Fin Buffet Dining restaurant.

Join us for our new/annual Gory Gore Parade! This Family Friendly fun event will be held Saturday, October 26. The Parade will begin at the Gore Municipal Complex and end at Summer’s Ferry, with a bonfire, trunk or treat, and costume contest! Best adult and best child (12 under). Costumes are encouraged and the more “homegrown” the better. No floats or motorized vehicles, just walk along with the Town’s crew
